Modern architecture and winter: cold, perhaps? I can see that, especially in your shot. The color of the sky really conveys the chill. There are elements of modern/contemporary design that I love, but to make it livable, it has to be tempered with the traditional.
Thanks for the compliment on my metal shots. I generally use a flash, sometimes a reflector, and overexpose a bit.
