The Call: Photographic Studies — Cheryl
Dennis and I bought this digital SLR as an anniversary gift to each other in 2007. Determined to use it, and eventually use it well, I spent a few weeks taking photos everyday and emailing one to friends and family. The shutter bug didn’t really bite, though, until Dennis started shooting at one of Luke’s baseball tournaments and handed the camera to me. Since then, I’ve shot thousands and thousands of photos and have learned TONS along the way.

Do you like Plate to Pixel? I thought about getting that…I was flipping through it at Barnes & Noble the other day and really liked the set-up shots.

An awfully nice person sent me those magazines. : ) I haven’t looked at Plate to Pixel in quite awhile, but I read through about half it when I first bought it and learned quite a bit. The most eye-opening discovery? That there are cameras that can shoot at ISOs like 1600 with no grain! That’s when I began looking further afield and decided that the E-5 was worth saving for. Of course, my sweet husband circumvented that and just bought me the camera for Christmas. I’m now about four months away from having enough for the new lens!
By the by, your frog looks like an interesting character! Was that taken with the Edge 80?
