I’m not much of a gardener and I tried in vain to find a funny\/cute quote about not liking to garden. Distressingly it seems that there are only positive garden quotes. Oh well. The picture is my daughter’s watermelon seedling from her science class. I’m not sure how much longer it has.<\/p>\n

Tip #1:<\/strong> I got the idea for this picture from a Corey Barker tutorial on Planet Photoshop<\/a>. Great resource — check it out! Thanks to French Kiss Textures’s facebook<\/a> page for the heads-up on that particular tut. : )<\/p>\n

Tip #2:<\/strong> Once you begin to use keyboard shortcuts in photoshop you will soon wonder how you ever did without them. Really. This particular shortcut is also mentioned in Corey’s video but it’s one of my favorites and one I use all the time. You know how we all love to experiment with the various blend modes until we find one we like — give your mouse hand a rest and just hold down the shift key while pressing the + key. It will scroll down the list of each blend mode. To go back up just press the – key. It’s brilliant! <\/p>\n
