This was suppose to be an occasional series — I would scan pictures from one of my favorite childhood books<\/a> and share them here and on flickr. Ahmmm. Okay so almost 6 months later I’m finally getting around to adding another post! <\/p>\n

Oh well…this is actually my favorite poem from the book and one of my favorite pictures. It was done my the Petershams — a husband and wife team, Maud and Miska<\/a>, their first book was published in 1929, and they won the Caldecott Medal in 1946 for The Rooster Crows: A Book of Children’s Rhymes and Jingles<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Now, I also took a second to correct the color to remove the faded yellow paper cast. It certainly made the colors brighter — the ghastly, ghostly green is much more evident and really adds a nice touch, I think. But I think I still prefer the faded yellow. It just seems warmer. It could also be because that’s what I’m use to. What do you think?<\/p>\n
