Since I’ve been making quarterly goals (all of two quarters in a row!), I’ve had “print more pictures” as one of those goals. One of the highest priority ones at that. Last quarter I managed to print off one. <\/p>\n

I’m not sure why it is so hard. I can’t use budget as a an excuse — Groupon and Living Social are full of deals on photo prints. I can’t use time or convenience as an excuse — I manage to upload plenty of shots to IG, flickr, G+ and here. And for goodness sakes the photos show up in my mailbox so I don’t even have to drive to the corner store!<\/p>\n

That’s a big part of the reason I was so happy to have “print photos” as an assignment for Kim Klassen’s BeStill 52<\/a>. I used Artifact Uprising this time to print off twenty-five of my favorite recent Instagram shots. Since they were black and white I decided to make the whole picture black and white. I used a rogue grid to put one of my favorites in the “spotlight.”<\/p>\n

Why Artifact Uprising<\/a>? Well, I don’t know, except that a twitter link sent me over there and then I liked the website, I liked the fact that they were made in the USA, I liked the heavy recycled paper they were printed on (almost like watercolor paper which creates a lovely texture on the black and white IG photos!). And then when I opened up the box and saw the first note saying “With Gratitude,” well…I was touched! It may be marketing but it’s nice, like the Chick-fil-A workers that say “My pleasure.” A little politeness goes a long way in this world. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
