Celebrate with me! I did it! I took an IG photo and spent a bit more time on it with my DSLR and got something that I&#8217;m very proud of!<\/p>\n<p>I can still see weaknesses and flaws but I did it and that&#8217;s what counts. And I learned a couple of valuable lessons.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I really need to organize and maintain my camera equipment. Now that I&#8217;ve added flash and flash modifers and light stands and radio remotes it&#8217;s taking over my corner of the study. Batteries are always dead when I need them, lenses are misplaced and dirty. It takes twice as long to do something because I&#8217;m trying to find everything.<\/li>\n<li>When arranging the still life, start with more items than you think you need. It&#8217;s easier to take things away then to run around the house looking for something&#8230;something slightly talller, something round, dark, (you just can&#8217;t put your finger on what you need to complement the other items so you just keep looking&#8230;)<\/li>\n<li>Trial and error&#8230;trial and error&#8230;trial and error.  And you know, if I wrote things down, I just might not have to go through SO MUCH trial and error&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Next time I would like the colors to harmonize better and I would like there to be more depth in the background. I&#8217;m afraid the black tri-fold board is just too flat. It&#8217;s a good thing we have a year for the Be Still class.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Woo hoo!
