Through the <a href=\"http:\/\/theartofphotography.tv\/episodes\/\" target=\"_blank\">Art of Photography<\/a>, I was lead to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keithcarterphotographs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Keith Carter<\/a>&#8216;s website and fell very much in love with his style and his attitude. You know I love my Lensbabies and blur, so of course, I agree 100% with Carter.<\/p>\n<p>To me, blur is what moves a photograph from a documentation of reality to an expression of an idea. In other words from a snapshot to art. That&#8217;s a pretty broad generalization, but I hope you get my point. While sharpness has it&#8217;s place, I prefer to manipulate the scene in front of me in order to direct the viewer to what I think is important or to better express the question that the photograph is the answer too.<\/p>\n<p>What?<\/p>\n<p>This is an idea directly from one of <a href=\"http:\/\/theartofphotography.tv\/episodes\/episode-106-42-the-questions-to-the-answer-photos-by-morell-sugimoto-baril-and-salgado\/\" target=\"_blank\">Forbes episodes <\/a>, but it struck me deeply because it is something that I have always believed. The answers are out there and easy to come by &mdash; it is the questions that are difficult and need fine-tuning. <\/p>\n<p>In terms of photography, the photograph is the answer, but can the viewer tell what the question was?
