\nHis quality of light is delicious and his composition is classic. The combination of the two produces such a beautiful sytilized portrait. Now all I need is a cute little model with giant brown eyes who is willing to get dressed up and stand in front of the camera. Anyone know where I could get one of those? All but the littlest of mine run away when I pull the camera out. <\/p>\n

\nI adore his “film-noir” style<\/a> on Instagram. It’s so different from what I do but I just love his street style. I’m not sure how much longer, but his iPhone Photography course<\/a> on Lynda.com is free. If you have chance, I highly recommend watching it. It’s only about an hour long but it’s full of video of him shooting in the streets of LA. It’s always intriging to watch how someone else works. Don’t you think? He also has a very interesting take on storytelling in photography that I found helpful.<\/p>\n

\nAdam has an amazing series on his blog where he gives composition tips based on classical art<\/a>. Or rather he relates the composition found in the paintings of the masters to those found in famous photographs. He spends a lot of time on Henri Cartier-Bresson<\/a> and the surrealists. It is fascinating reading and I’ve really learned a lot from him. Instead of focusing on the rule of thirds, I now look for a strong diagonal. I try to do it in camera but more often than not I end re-composing when I crop in post.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
