FOR TODAY
Outside my window: it is HOT! Already. 9 am. Hot — blazing, Texas hot. And Houston humid. And I live in Virginia. Gagh, I hate these days.

I am thinking: of my three oldest kids — all away at camp this week. All sitting out in the blazing humid heat. I think it’s going to rain this afternoon and then it will be cooler. I hope. I hope they were all able to sleep okay last night.

I am thankful for: air conditioning. Of course. And frozen margaritas. Mmm – icy!

From the kitchen: Maybe the little boys and I will make homemade ice cream today. That would be fun and tasty! I need to find a recipe…

I am creating: a newsletter to mail to the camp kids. I thought I’d put in some pictures and things to do (a sudoku puzzle).

I am going: to the post office and the pool. Especially the pool.

I am reading: Joe McNally’s Hot Shoe Diaries and it is an excellent book! I am understanding flash! I am using my sb600 off-camera! It’s cool!

I am hoping: that everyone is having fun at camp and staying cool.

I am hearing: the dog rooting around behind me looking for something — I better go check!

Around the house: as always there are plenty of things to pick up.

One of my favorite things: apple strudel and coffee for breakfast.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Tomorrow, Pixie gets spayed. Other than that, I see lots of pool time and maybe a trip to the Reston zoo in our future.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing:
