I enjoyed the book, but found much of it confusing. Reading the introduction after finishing the story (I sometimes do it that way) made me realize that I had an abridged version. I wanted the rest of the story. Soon enough, I bought an unabridged version and it was worlds better. The greater number of words provided greater clarity.
