It’s been a mixed up week. Holidays, snow days and sick days meant I spent a lot of time at home this week. It was a nice reminder of life before work. I also read and listened to a bunch of things that got all jumbled up in my mind. I’m still pondering them ― searching for the meaning. Instead, I’m just going to share quotes.
The words use to flow quickly and easily. Scraps of paper, margins, notebooks, all covered with words — it was really a kind of graphomania. One day I came to the conclusion that it was all just ridiculous noise and I put them away.
It is late in the Christmas season when we finally put up our tree; late to most people but really only the third week of Advent — Gaudete Sunday. On January 1, while the majority of trees are being returned to boxes in the basement or hauled to the curb, ours lingers a quiet twinkly beacon of Christmas.
