Madness

The Response: Who Needs Sleep? — Cheryl Bridget had three of her friends sleep over last night, after a wedding most of the them attended. Wait, let me change the “sleep over” to “hang out.” That madness label? I’m not sure who to apply that to — perhaps all of us. (Oh, for the record: […]

Madness

The Call: Band Concert — Jessica It’s been a long and busy Friday to cap off a long and busy week. Madness was my call because of all the items on the agenda. More, later.

Fill

The Response: Flame — Jessica I could spend so much more time than I do on my pictures. I steal moments for photography in the cracks and crevices of the day. I can never get my fill.

Fill

The Call: Summer on Deck — Cheryl I think I could fill entire days—wait, more accurately, nights—with the creation of abstract images in Photoshop. This particular one was made with three different multiple exposure/ICM images of my spray-painted deck, the catkins that have been blown all over the deck, and lilacs swaying in the breeze.

Splash

The Call: Lilac Time of Year — Cheryl We have one lilac bush that actually blooms. It could use some pruning, because cutting lilacs involves a lot of stretching and reaching and cutting away of flowerless twigs. I think it’s worth the effort. Not only do I appreciate the splash of purple in the living […]

Splash

The Call: Oops! — Jessica I wasn’t going to be so literal for today’s call but when Danny dropped one of the water balloons that the older kids were filling up, well, I just couldn’t pass it by.

Fragile

The Response: Spring Blossoms — Jessica An approaching thunderstorm shook the fragile blossoms in my backyard this evening. More heavy rain and wind is expected tonight so I’m afraid there won’t be many blossoms left in the morning. Too bad there just wasn’t enough time this Spring.

Fragile

The Call: Glass Smoke — Cheryl More than a decade ago, Dennis’s parents gave us a glass oil lamp that—amazingly—has survived in our raucous house. It looks and feels quite fragile. In fact, here it is: I created today’s image with four exposures in one frame, a shutter open for 2.5 seconds, and some slow, […]

Purple

The Response: Purple Gazing — Cheryl I had a number of purple photos to choose from today, but I settled on this: a four-shot, multiple-exposure image created with the trees in my backyard, and a lovely, large, purple candle my sister-in-law made for me.

Purple

The Call: Wisteria-covered Gazebo — Jessica I feel like a cheated a bit with this call. I knew I wanted to go back to the botanical garden today and shoot the wisteria. I wasn’t able to really spend time with it yesterday since I had Danny with me. I went there straight after the grocery […]
